Once a year, before the first hard freeze. In the South Metro Denver area, that typically means scheduling in September or October — earlier is safer than later, since an unexpected early freeze can catch an unwinterized system off guard.

Do I need to be home for my sprinkler blowout?

Accepted Answer

We prefer you to be home because we need access to your controller and the water shut-off inside your home.

What happens if I don't winterize my sprinkler system?

Accepted Answer

Water left in your pipes, valves, and backflow assembly freezes and expands, which cracks pipes, splits valves, and damages the backflow assembly. Repairs from a skipped winterization are almost always more expensive than the blowout itself would have been.

Can I blow out my own sprinklers?

Accepted Answer

We don't recommend it. Home and rental air compressors usually don't have enough CFM (airflow volume) to fully clear a residential irrigation system, especially on larger properties or longer pipe runs. An incomplete DIY blowout can leave water behind without you knowing it, which is often worse than not attempting one at all.

No. We use proper pressure regulation alongside our high-CFM equipment, so your system gets fully cleared without excess pressure stressing pipes, fittings, or heads that don't need it.
